Terms of Service

Last updated: 16 September 2026

These terms cover delvun.com and everything on it: the scenarios, the browser sandboxes and the checker. The service is operated by the operator of Delvun (registration details are published here before the first sale). Using the site means accepting them.

The seller's registration details are added here before the first sale; until then Delvun sells nothing and takes no payments.

What Delvun is

Delvun is an online learning platform for engineers. A scenario is a deliberately broken environment that opens in your browser; you fix it, and a checker on our server inspects the real state of that environment and reports which checks pass.

Delvun teaches and verifies. It does not certify, does not assess you for an employer unless you ask us to, and is not a recruitment service. Nothing here is a guarantee of a job, an interview or a salary.

Your account

An account is an email address. Sign-in is a one-time link sent to that address — there is no password. Keep access to the mailbox: whoever can read it can sign in.

One person, one account. Accounts are not shared or transferred. The free tier includes five scenarios per account and sessions of forty-five minutes; these numbers are stated on the site and can change for new accounts.

The sandboxes

Each session is a disposable container on our servers. It has a time limit, its own CPU, memory and disk allowance, and no route to the internet. When the session ends, everything inside it is destroyed — save nothing there that you need.

Sandboxes are for solving the scenario in front of you. You agree not to use them for anything else, in particular:

  • mining, proxying, scanning, sending email, or attacking anything inside or outside our network
  • storing or distributing unlawful material
  • attempting to reach other learners' sessions, our infrastructure, or the checker's code
  • automating scenario solving in order to resell or republish it

Scenarios, checkers and your work

Scenarios, briefs, checkers and the platform itself stay ours. You may use them to learn, quote them in a blog post or a talk with attribution, and show your own results to anyone. You may not republish scenarios or checkers, or run them as your own course.

The teaching service used inside scenarios (payments-api) is open source under its own licence; that licence, not these terms, governs it.

What you type in a sandbox is yours. We keep the results of check runs and the timeline of attempts — that is the record the platform is built on.

Availability

The platform runs on a small number of machines and is maintained by one person. Sessions can be refused when every sandbox slot is taken, and the service can be paused for maintenance or after an incident. A sandbox that fails to start, a session that expires and a paused platform are never counted as an attempt against you and never consume a free scenario.

We aim to be available, but we do not promise a service level. If the platform is unusable for a long period and you have paid for access, write to us: see Refunds.

Payment

Everything on the site is free today. When paid access opens, checkout is handled by Paddle as merchant of record: Paddle sells to you, takes the payment, handles tax, and appears on your statement. Prices are shown per country.

Paid access is for one person, for the product described at checkout. Refunds are covered in the refund policy.

Ending an account

You can ask us to delete your account at any time by writing to [email protected]; we delete it and its records within thirty days.

We can suspend an account that breaks these terms — in practice, that means abuse of the sandboxes. If we do, we say why, and we refund paid access that was not used.

Liability and law

The platform is provided as it is. We are not liable for indirect losses, lost profit, or anything that happens because of what you learned here; our liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

These terms are governed by the law of Georgia. Nothing in them removes rights you have as a consumer where you live.

If we change them, the date at the top changes, and material changes are announced by email to accounts that have paid access.
